The Whitehall Mall was once thriving center of retail. However, it’s best days are behind it. As time passes, the mall becomes less and less significant. The number of stores is diminishing, cosmetically speaking the mall needs a face lift and crime is now a daily occurrence there. And now the Borders there is closing up shop so expect to see one more empty retail shell adorning MacArthur Road at some point in the near future.
Whitehall Mall, like many of the shopping centers on 145 (MacArthur Road) are aging and in bad shape. The retail corridor that once ran proudly through Whitehall is diminishing at a rapid pace and none of the township’s plans have helped stem the tide. The closing of Borders is not the township government’s fault, but let’s see what effort is made to try and revive the retail situation on 145.
This town continues to fall apart and the commissioners and mayor continue to play their fiddles.
