Two Feet of Snow Predicted for Wednesday into Thursday

Here we go again. After an almost snowless 2019-2020, this year’s snow season is kicking off with in a massive way. A major snowstorm is forecast to begin tomorrow in the late morning and go on through Thursday. Right now the forecasting models are predicting as much as TWO FEET in the Lehigh Valley. Yes, you heard me correctly. TWO FEET. The Weather Channel has even given this storm the snappy name of Gail, not that anyone notices or cares.

I’m not entirely convinced there will be 2 feet of snow on the ground here when all is said and done. It’s possible, but I have been down this road too many times to take the bait. Days of apocalyptic forecasting, winter storm warnings, supermarkets running out of bread, milk, eggs, and scrapple! And then, we get maybe a dusting and a few gusts of wind.

Let’s see how the forecast shapes up tonight and then I’ll post some tips on storm preparations in the Valley. The first tip is simple. If it snows, keep the hell off of 22 and 78.
